In order to save valuable landfill space and satisfy state and federal mandates, Bermondsey Waste Management operates a variety of recycling systems at its disposal sites. A variety of stuff are separated from the waste stream and processed into new products. Disposal Site Recycling Programs are listed below.
While Waste Management Department operates a variety of recycling systems at its disposal sites, not everything we use can be recycled. Many different items are left over after the waste stream is separated.
Building and demolition waste comprises the following material types: Asphalt, Brick, Concrete, Soil, Drywall, Fencing Material, Metal, Packing Material, Pallets, Pipe and Wood. Please review the handling instructions and approval criteria for every one of the stuff listed as they may vary for every material type. There are also many kinds of soil: Clean fill dirt (less than 30% vegetation), dirty soil (more than 30% vegetation, stone, etc), & tainted soil (hazardous constituents in the soil).

Substances that don’t satisfy these criteria will be rejected. Recycling of common residential waste is available at the Kern Valley, McFarland-Delano, Buttonwillow, Lebec and Glennville Transfer Stations. Below is a listing of acceptable materials, urged material preparation and recycling directions.
Tires are accepted at most disposal sites for recycling. After reviewing the approval criteria below, CLICK on the Disposal Website link and choose the site you’d like to make use of for a fee schedule. Fees apply for all other tires per the Disposal Fee schedule for every site.
Certified Used Oil Collection Centers are located at many County Solid Waste Disposal Sites for the collection of used motor oil and filters from residential & commercial sources. Handling & Acceptance Standards for Solid Waste Disposal Sites (Materials that don’t satisfy these criteria will be rejected).

Treated Wood Waste is accepted at many Disposal Sites for a Fee. Treated wood waste in not recycled. There are AMOUNT LIMITATIONS AT SOME LOCATIONS. Proceed to the Disposal Websites page to decide the approval criteria for every location.
